April the 2nd 2011 is not a date that most Zamalek fans would like to remember as it witnessed a chaotic Champions League night for the Cairo giants.

As Zamalek trailed Tunisia’s Club Africain 4-2 in the round of 32, the Whites found themselves 2-1 up at Cairo Stadium but that was never enough.

In the second minute of injury time, Ahmed Gaafar thought he had won the tie for Zamalek, only for the goal to be ruled out after the striker clearly appeared to be offside.

But five minutes later, some of the Zamalek fans in the stands refused to admit defeat as the scene turned into mayhem with hundreds of supporters invading the pitch before the final whistle.
