“A Young Boys representative spoke to us about Hamoudi,” Smouha chairman Farag Amer told FilGoal.com.
“We will not stand in his way if that what he wants, but we prefer the transfer to be on loan.
“The Swiss club said that they would make a bid only if Hamoudi continued to impress until the season ends.”
Hamoudi, 22, has been in fine form for Smouha so far this season, scoring once and setting up four goals in the league so far.
He made his Egypt debut last month in Qatar and scored in his second international against Swaziland.
Egypt already have two players in the Swiss league in Mohamed Salah and Mohamed Al-Nenni, who have both been impressive signings for Basel.
