Egypt international Ahmed Elmohamady is hoping to end his loan spell at Hull City by helping the club win promotion at the weekend.

Elmohamady, who was voted Player of the Season a few days ago, is on brink of seeing his team win promotion to the Premier League provided they beat lowly Barnsley on Saturday.

“It has been a big season here,” the 25-year-old, who is on a season-long loan from Sunderland, told Hull’s official website.

“I have to say thank you to my team-mates for helping me to win the award at the weekend and, of course, to the fans of Hull City for the support they have given me.

“I just hope that we can go on and get promoted at the weekend now.

“It was a big decision for me to come here.

“But I have to thank the manager for bringing me here. He was also the one that brought me over from Egypt to play in England.

“The manager also brought Geddo and Fathi here and they have been fantastic for us. It’s great to see Egyptian players in the English league.”

Elmohamady scored three goals and set up nine for Hull so far this season.
