As they were hopeful to resume the league season on July 9 and 10, FA officials were set to convene on Sunday after getting a ‘verbal approval’ from authorities.
However, the Egyptian football governing body said on its website that the meeting has been postponed indefinitely, amid the ‘event Egypt is going through’.
Political tension has been increasingly alerting since the dismissal of president Mohamed Morsi by the military forces a few days ago.
The FA said that it will continue to contact authorities in order to get the green light for the league resumption.
Only one week is remaining in the Egyptian Premier League season, with the relegation battle still far from settled.
