Egypt beat Uganda 2-0 in a friendly game ahead of next month’s World Cup qualifying playoff at Ghana as Zamalek star Shikabala hobbled off the pitch near the end of the game.

Two goals from Zamalek duo Ahmed Eid and Hazem Emam either side of the interval gave Egypt an easy win over their minnow African opponents.

Egypt manager Bob Bradley fielded a second-string side in the game after 11 Ahli players had to leave for the CAF Champions League semi-final at Cameroon’s Coton Sport next weekend.

The Pharaohs were also missing all their foreign-based players in the non-FIFA fixture.

As Bradley aimed at preparing some fringe players for the October 15 clash, he was unlucky to see Shikabala, who was superbly involved in the second goal, limp off the pitch just seven minutes from time.

The midfield star appeared to have twisted his ankle awakwardly.

Midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou made his comeback after a lengthy layoff with a knee injury.
