The Egyptian Premier League second week witnessed another six-goal fest as Arab Contractors secured an entertaining 4-2 victory over newly-promoted Raja.

Contractors were three goals ahead after 32 minutes, with Nigerian defender Shamusideen Tijani Akanbi, Mohamed Salem and Mohamed Farouk scoring for the hosts before Tarek Salem pulled one back on the stroke of half-time.

Mohamed Adel then restored Contractors' three-goal cushion from the spot as Tamer Moheb narrowed the gap to two goals with another penalty.

Gouna bounced back from their 1-0 opening day defeat to MCDR with another narrow win over Military Production.

The coastal side only needed a second-half header from Nigerian forward Minusu Buba to hand Production their second league defeat.

Another match to end with the same result was Smouha's 1-0 win over Ghazl Mahalla away from home.

A 17th minute corner kick swerved by Ghanaian striker Ernest Papa Arko was converted by the Peasants defender into his own net, giving the Alexandria-based outfit their first win of the season.

Unlike all the second week games, the only fixture that ended in a goalless stalemate was Ittihad's draw with MCDR, who failed to build on their opening win over Gouna to secure a share of spoils.
