Mortada Mansour has been elected chairman of Zamalek for the third time.

Mansour, a renowned lawyer, beat off competition from rival Kamal Darwish, who has been in charge for several months.

The 62-year-old is regarded as a highly-controversial figure in Egypt, having been involved in numerous incidents - related and unrelated to sport - embodying his outspeken nature.

Even though most of the club members voted for him, Mansour's election may not be welcomed by Zamalek's football fans.

The new Zamalek board also includes Mansour's son Ahmed Mortada, as well as former Egypt goalkeeping coach Ahmed Soliman.
