Six Zamalek board members resign

Five Zamalek board members submitted a pending resignations to the Minister of Youth, set to be activated should the ministry charge the board of financial corruption.

Five Zamalek board members submitted a pending resignations to the Minister of Youth, set to be activated should the ministry charge the board of financial corruption.

Zamalek vice president Ismail Selim, treasury head El-Mandoh Al-Husseini, board member Yasser Idriss, Azmi Megahed and Ahmed Galal submitted their resignation on Saturday.

Club board member Seif Emari had submitted his final and unconditional resignation on Friday.

On another hand, Zamalek president Mourtada Mansour cancelled his scheduled meeting with the players on Saturday after going to meet with Ministry officials to straighten up different club issues.

Nevertheless, newly-appointed coaching staff, led by Mahmoud El-Khawaga and Tarek Yehia, did manage to meet with the players to explain all the club changes and their future plan.

Meanwhile, Mansour commented on the press conference held by Farouk Gaafar in the club headquarters and said: “I’m trying to find him an excuse for him, I know he’s has been disturbed about his sacking.”
