Tottenham striker Ahmed Hossam “Mido” said his team showed great fighting spirit to come from behind twice and hold Middlesbrough to a 3-3 draw on Sunday.

“I’m really proud of this game, so are all of the lads,” Mido told BBC Sport after the match.

“Today’s game wasn’t about goals, it was about spirit, and we showed we have the fighting spirit that most of the other teams don’t,” he added.

The Spurs took the lead through Robbie Keane but soon found themselves trailing thanks to a double from Boro’s Yakubu Aiyegbeni.

Jermaine Jenas put the Spurs at level from a brilliant 63rd minute free-kick before Franck Queudrue regained the lead for the home side.

Mido secured a match point for Tottenham when he rose to head home Michael Carrick’s corner-kick in the 83rd minute.

“The third goal wasn’t about Mido, it was about the whole team,” said the Egyptian international.

“We worked hard throughout the game to come from behind twice, so I consider it a present for my teammates,” he added.

The 22-year-old talisman dished also out praise for Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson.

“There are a lot of great goalkeepers in the Premier League, but Robinson is definitely the best,” he said.
