Egypt boss Hassan Shehata confirmed that Ahli defender Emad Al-Nahhas will miss the team's African Cup of Nations (ACN) campaign due to his failure to recuperate from his injury.

Ahli team doctor Ehab Ali insisted that the player won't be able to recover in time to join his teammates in their run for the African Cup, Shehata told Filgoal.com.

Al-Nahhas had initially picked up an injury in Ahli's match against Suez Cement in the Egyptian league.

The injury recurred when the Egypt international played in his club's FIFA Club World Championship (CWC) match against Australian club Sydney FC.

On the other hand, goalkeeping coach Ahmed Soliman said there was no intention to add any other goalkeepers to the announced squad, and said that Abdul-Wahed Al-Sayed, Essam Al-Hadari, Mohamed Abdul-Monsef and Mostafa Kamal were more than sufficient.

Soliman also insisted that Abdul-Monsef's experience and national team caps were the reason he was preferred to veteran guardian Nader Al-Sayed.

Meanwhile, Osama Hosni is still nursing a thigh muscle injury and will be sidelined for five days.

Shehata also indicated that he will call up Europe-based players Ahmed Hossam "Mido" and Hosni Abd-Rabou when the time is suitable.
