French manager Henri Kasperczak is considered to be the frontrunner for the position Club board member Essam Bahig told Filgoal.com.
Zamalek’s newly appointed board has been in negotiations with the Polish-born coach to replace Farouk Gaafar who was sacked in December.
Kasperczak has reportedly agreed a pay cut to his regular monthly salary, allowing negotiations with Zamalek to continue.
Kasperczak is currently under contract with the Polish Football Association where he is working as a councilor.
“I’m sure Zamalek officials will be able to work the situation out in order to acquire his services,” said Bahig.
The 56-year-old has a vast experience with African teams, coaching the national teams of Mali, Ivory Coast, Tunisia and Morocco.
Zamalek are in third place in the Egyptian league table on 26 points, four points adrift of pace-setters Ahli who have two games in hand.
