PM Nazif meets African Cup organizing committee next week

Egyptian Council for Sports president Hassan Sakr confirmed that Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Nazif will hold a meeting with the African Cup of Nations (ACN) organizing committee next week to ensure there wont be any difficulties in the tournament.

Egyptian Council for Sports president Hassan Sakr confirmed that Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Nazif will hold a meeting with the African Cup of Nations (ACN) organizing committee next week to ensure there wont be any difficulties in the tournament.

“Dr. Ahmed Nazif will hold a meeting with us on January 14th to solve any problems and ease any hindrances before and during the tournament,” Sakr told Filgoal.com on Wednesday.

Egypt will host the African Cup which will feature 16 teams competing for the cup from January 20th until February 10th.

“All of the media centers will be opened on the same day, including the central unit in the International Conference Hall,” Sakr added.

The Ministry of Tourism put LE 1.3-million in building the media centers in cooperation with the Ministry of Information, while both ministries continue working alongside with the ministries of Interior and Health to provide the best possible setting for the tournament.

Asked about the African Cup opening ceremony, Sakr said: “The ceremony will be 50 minutes long and will have a Pharaohnic theme.”
