AC Milan striker Alberto Gilardino said he will celebrate normally if he scores a goal against former club Parma in their clash on Sunday, Football Italia magazine reported on Friday.

"I will always have affection for Parma, the team and the town, where I exploded on to the footballing scene," Gilardino said.

"But now I am at Milan and if I score then I don’t see any reason why I shouldn’t celebrate it. My job is to score goals and my reaction will be spontaneous," he added.

The Italian international will face Parma for the first time since his move to Milan last summer when both sides meet at the Giuseppe Meazza in Italian Serie A on Sunday.

The 23-year-old refused to concede defeat in the title race, claiming that the Rossoneri are capable of catching runway leaders Juventus.

"We think we can catch Juve as we definitely do not feel inferior in any way to the Bianconeri," he said.

"Milan have a great squad who can rely on great human and technical qualities. Nothing is impossible from now until the end of the campaign," he added.

Gilardino played 18 matches for Milan this season and scored 11 goals in all competitions.
