Ahli received 150,000 euros ($200,000) for the services of Abou-Mosallam, whose contract with the Cairo powerhouse expires at the end of this season.
“We signed a deal with Strasbourg that will see Abou-Mosallam move to Strasbourg beginning this month,” Ahli marketing director Adli Al-Qayei told Filgoal.com on Sunday.
Financial aspects of the deal concerning Abou-Mosallam were undisclosed.
The 25-year-old completed a trial period and passed a medical at the French club last week.
Abou-Mosallam, who was omitted from the Egyptian squad preparing for the African Cup of Nations, is set to travel to France in the upcoming days.
The former Dina Farms Club player became the second Egyptian to join Strasbourg after Hosni Abd-Rabou who completed a move from Ismaili during the off-season.
Al-Qayei noted that Ahli is waiting for an official offer for midfielder Sayed Abdul-Hafiz from Saudi club Al-Wehda.
Abdul-Hafiz had previously turned down an offer from the Saudi side before reconsidering after being omitted from Ahli’s African Champions League squad.
“Ahli’s board and football committee refused letting go of any players in the upcoming period with the exception of Abou-Mosallam and Abdul-Hafiz, who received the approval of the coaching staff,” Al-Qayei explained.
