Real Madrid announced that defender Michel Salgado will be sidelined for the coming two weeks after picking up a left foot injury during his side's Spanish Cup match against Atletic Bilbao.

Real medical staff confirmed that Salgado will be ruled out from the club's upcoming matches in the coming two weeks, the Spanish club announced on their website on Friday.

Real gave Bilbao a 4-0 drubbing in their Spanish Cup second-leg on Thursday, after winning the first-leg 1-0. They will next face Real Betis in the quarter-finals.

Salgado is another name in Real's growing injury list that includes Brazilian ace Ronaldo, who picked up the same as Salgado's injury but only in the right foot, Raul Gonzalez and Jonathan Woodgate.

On another hand, Real had recently signed right-back Cicinho, which means that this will be a golden opportunity for the defender to demonstrate his skills given the numerous injuries.
