Charlton agree on Bent deal

Charlton Athletic have agreed a $4.5-million fee for Everton striker Marcus Bent, subject to a medical, the Premiership club announced on their official website on Monday.

The 27-year-old forward featured with Blackburn Rovers in 2000 and Portman Road one year later before moving to Goodison Park in June 2004, where he was second top-scorer with a tally of seven goals from 42 league appearances.

Bent, who is expected to play alongside Darren Bent in Charlton’s attacking-lines, lost his permanent team spot at Everton after striker James Beattie moved to the club.
