Nine-man Ivory Coast beat Jordan 2-0 in a friendly international in UAE capital Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

Didier Drogba opened the score for the West Africans in the 25th minute while Auxerre midfielder Kanga Akale sealed the victory five minutes from the final whistle.

Ten minutes after scoring the opener, Chelsea striker Drogba was given his marching orders.

The Elephants were then reduced to nine men when one of their defenders was sent off with three minutes left to play.

Ivory Coast were drawn to Group A of the African Nations Cup, alongside hosts Egypt, Libya and Morocco.
