Filgoal team: Confederation of African Football (CAF) disciplinary committee studied the option of imposing new sanctions over Egypt and Libya following the fiasco started by the latter’s fans in the Egypt and Morocco Group A match in the African Cup of Nations on Tuesday.

The disciplinary committee are expected to member Mohamed Al-Seyagi fine Libya after their fans havocked the stadium seats and threw them at the Egyptian fans.

They are also expected to fine Egypt due to the fans’ chanting against Morocco during their national anthem, committee member Mohamed Al-Seyagi told reporters on Wednesday.

Libyan fans who stayed after their team’s 2-1 defeat to Ivory Coast sparked the fiasco after throwing seats at Egyptian fans, who had backed Libya against Ivory Coast earlier.

Egyptian security forces were forced to intervene with the problem and cleared out the Libyan fans only minutes after the chaos erupted.

Both Libya and Egypt were fined $5,000 following earlier fall outs between fans in their opening match that ended 3-0 for the Pharaohs.
