Port Said-Badr El Din Hassan: Nigeria coach Augustine Eguavoen said he was happy with his team's performance against Zimbabwe on Friday and will do his best to overcome Senegal in their final group match next week.

"I was satisfied with my team's overall performance," Eguavoen told reporters following Nigeria’s 2-0 win over Zimbabwe.

Nigeria need a draw against Senegal in their final Group D match on Tuesday to secure passage to the African Cup of Nations quarter-finals.

"We know the next match is important but we are not going to lose sleep over it.

"We have a team to beat any other team on our day. We need one more point and we're going to work hard to get it," he said.

Zimbabwe coach Charles Mhlauri said that Eguavoen’s second-half substitutions and his team’s defensive mistakes, were the reason behind the defeat.

“Substitutes Obi Mike and Nwankwo Kanu turned the table on us and we made two defensive mistakes that cost us the game,” the 36-year-old manager said.
