Port Said-Badr El Din Hassan: Ghana captain Stephen Appiah was cleared to continue the African Cup of Nations campaign after undergoing scans on his right foot he picked up in his team's Group D match against Senegal in the African Nations Cup on Friday.

Appiah sustained the injury in the first-half of Ghana's 1-0 win over Senegal and national team doctors feared the Fenerbahce midfielder would miss the remainder of the tournament.

However, scans confirmed Appiah suffered a minor bruise that will not hinder him from continuing the African campaign.

Ghana, who share second spot with Senegal on three points, conclude their group stage matches by facing Zimbabwe on Tuesday.
