North African giants Morocco were eliminated from the African Cup of Nations (ACN) following a goalless draw with Libya in their Group A match that took place on Saturday.

The result put Morocco in third place in Group A on two points, one ahead of Libya as both teams were eliminated from the first round.

Hosts Egypt beat Ivory Coast 3-1 as both teams advanced to the quarterfinals as winners and runners-up respectively.

Both sides gave a mediocre performance in a match that more tense than enticing.

Morocco dominated the majority of the game but were kept at bay by a resilient Libyan defense.
