Tunisia underwent their team training in Port Said on Friday for the quarter-final match against Nigeria on Saturday in the African Cup of Nations (ACN).

The Carthage Eagles, who arrived in Port Said on Thursday coming from Alexandria, refused to talk to the media and said that they wont give out any statements until after they get used to the Stadium.

The 45-man delegation were scheduled to arrive in Port Said on Wednesday but preferred to delay it for 24 hours, after Zimababwe and Ghana delegations checked-out of the hotel.

Tunisia are hoping for a repeat of their victory over Nigeria in the 2004 African Cup in Tunisia in the semi-finals, which paved the way for them to be crowned as African Champions.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Ministry of Sports promised the Nigerian players $7,500 each as bonuses on condition of qualification to the African Cup semi-finals after defeating Tunisia.

The Nigerian players have already cashed in on $15,000 each for their three victories in the group stage.

“The Ministry of Sports gave the players all the ingredients necessary for victory, and there hasn’t been any complaints from either sides. We hope this system remains unchanged,” a team source said.
