Ballack inspires Bayren to a 1-0 victory over Leverkusen

The Bayern skipper chested down a high ball and fired a throbbing shot in the 26th minute to give his side their ninth home win this season’s German League.
With this result, the all-time league favourites became eight points clear at the top of the Bundesliga standings with a tally of 50 points.
Meanwhile, Werder Bremen maintained their second-place position in the league charts after coming from two goals down to beat Mainz 4-2.
Egyptian striker Mohamed Zidan, who came to Mainz from Bremen, scored the fastest goal in the Bundesliga this season, after only 20 seconds, to give Mainz the lead.
Niclas Weiland made Mainz two up before Nelson Valdez, Johan Micoud and Ivan Klasnic scored a goal each for Bremen by the end of the first half.
Valdez secured Bremen’s victory with the fourth goal, his second, halfway through the second half.
Bremen come in second place in the Bundesliga standings with a tally of 42 points, while Hamburg SV come in at third place with 41 points.
In other matches, Hamburg SV defeated Arminia Bielefeld 2-1 at home, Schalke remain in fourth place after a goalless draw to Borussia Dortmund, Bottom club Kaiserslautern claimed a 2-2 away draw to Duisburg, Eintracht Frankfurt held Hertha Berlin to a 1-1 draw, and Cologne held Stuttgart to a goalless draw.
