Egyptian Football Association (EFA) board are scheduled to hold a meeting on Saturday to discuss the future of Egypt's coaching staff after their winning African Cup of Nations (ACN) campaign.

“There is a sort of general consensus within the board to renew coach Hassan Shehata’s contract along with his coaching staff,” EFA president Samir Zaher told Filgoal.com exclusively on Tuesday.

Zaher also insisted that Shehata’s contract will be extended until after the 2008 African Cup of Nations (ACN) in Ghana, but said that there will be no alterations to the old deal’s financial issues.

The Egyptian FA head said that holding on to the coaching staff behind their successful African campaign would help maintain their top-flight status and help defend their African title in the 2008 tournament.

Zaher had held individual meetings with coaching staff and EFA board members to try to reach a compromise regarding a new deal.
