Zamalek coaching staff decided to conduct a closed camp in the 6th of October district in Cairo in preparation for their city-derby against Ahli that will take place on Saturday.

“Coach Manuel Cajuda demanded that the team underwent a closed-camp training in the 6th of October district starting from Thursday,” Zamalek assistant coach Ahmed Ramzi told Filgoal.com exclusively on Wednesday.

Zamalek picked up their pace in the Egyptian league with the team’s third consecutive victory under Cajuda’s rule, after beating Arab Contractors 1-0 thanks to a Moataz Eno strike.

Ramzi revealed that Cajuda chose the suburban 6th of October district after saying that the players will be able to get rid of their exhaustion with the proper equipment, after playing three matches in 10 days.

The assistant coach also insisted that the team’s squad for the derby wont witness any serious changes from the previous three matches’ squad, with the exception that Cajuda will be looking for a replacement for defender Tamer Abdul-Wahab, who received his second booking during Zamalek’s Tuesday match against Arab Contractors, which means he will miss the Ahli match.

Zamalek jumped to top the Egyptian league standings temporarily with a tally of 35 points, one point ahead of rivals Ahli, who still have three postponed matches to play.
