Ahli assistant coach Hossam Al-Badri announced that Mohamed Barakat, Mohamed Shawki and Wael Gomaa will miss the 96th Cairo-derby against rivals Zamalek on Saturday through injury.

“The medical staff head, Dr. Ehab Ali recommended that Barakat be sidelined during our match against Zamalek after medical scans showed his inability to play,” Al-Badri told Filgoal.com exclusively on Thursday.

Ahli will take on Zamalek in the derby that will take place on Saturday at Cairo International Stadium, and that was postponed from the Egyptian league round-11.

“Shawki and Gomaa are also confirmed to miss the match given their inability to recuperate from their earlier injuries,” Al-Badri added.

Ahli are looking to pick up their pace after being held to a 2-2 draw by Ghazl Mahalla and to regain their status as league leaders after Zamalek took over temporarily.

On the other hand, Egyptian authorities turned down Ahli’s request not to separate between their and Zamalek’s fans, Filgoal.com learnt.
