Ahmed Abdul-Ghani scored twice and dished out an assist to help Harras Al-Hodoud register a 4-0 victory over Libya's Al-Akhdar and send his side to the round of the 32 in the Confederation Cup.

Abdul-Ghani fed Abdul-Salam Nagah for the opener in the 30th minute before he doubled the lead himself just before the break.

The prolific striker put the home side three up on the hour mark and international midfielder Ahmed Eid completed the drubbing midway through the second period.

Al-Hodoud, who were beaten 1-0 in the first leg, will next take on Guinean side AS Kaloum.

The first match will take place in Alexandria on March 17/18/19 and the second leg will be staged two weeks later.

Disallowed goal

The visitors started in an attacking style in an attempt to score an early goal and almost grabbed it in the 28th minute.

A Libyan striker fired the ball home after he was found unchallenged in the box but the goal was disallowed for offside.

However, the television replay proved that the goal was legal as the scorer was covered by the home players.

Al-Hodoud answered just two minutes later when Abdul-Ghani raced down the left, cut inside the area and crossed to the darting Nagah who sent a low first-timer past the advancing goal keeper.

Abdul-Ghani sent his side into the locker room with a two-goal lead as he latched on to Eid's neat pass before poking home.

Nagah turned provider in the 60th minute when he swung an inch-perfect cross to Abdul-Ghani who steered a powerful header into the back of the net.

Shortly after, Ahmed Osman failed to narrow the gap when he couldn't deliver from the spot as Al-Hodoud's Cameroonian goalkeeper Kameni Maturin dived to palm his shot away.

Eid put the icing on the cake in the 74th minute when he rounded a Libyan defender and drilled a finish that deflected off another defender and went home.
