"For me, this was a vital win. First of all because Blackburn were only three points behind us and now we have opened a gap again," Egyptian international Mido said.
"The second reason was because in the last four or five games we've had a bit of a dip in results, it's been a difficult period and we had to step up again and win this game.
"Thirdly, Blackburn are a very good team and a difficult team to beat. I said before it was very important and it was a great win for us," he added.
Blackburn Rovers came from behind to cancel out Robbie Keane's brace before Mido sealed the victory for Tottenham, who maintained their fourth place in the Premiership table with 49 points, five points ahead of fifth-placed Arsenal.
"We showed great mentality with how we reacted after we conceded the second goal," Mido said.
"I think they are two of the most important things in football - spirit and mentality - and we have a very good mentality in the team," he added.
On the other hand, Italian Serie A side Roma are reportedly ready to offload Mido in order to lure Udinese striker Vincenzo Iaquinta to the Stadio Olimpico.
Football Italia magazine stated that Tottenham would sign the 23-year-old permanently, paving the way for Roma to sign Iaquinta as they will have the funds available.
