Real Madrid new president Fernando Martin admitted that he is interested in re-signing Juventus manager Fabio Capello to take over as head coach.
"I like Capello, his ability can't be questioned when you look at his record," Martin was quoted as saying by Sky Sports network on Friday.
"Real want the best man for the job. The board will decide who to target after a meeting next week."
Capello, who guided Real to the Spanish League title in 1997, has one year in his contract with the Turin side.
He has been tipped for the job after the Royal club sacked Brazilian boss Vanderlei Luxemburgo and appointed Lopez Caro as a caretaker manager till the end of the season.
Real almost lost hope in La Liga title as they trail leaders and title holders Barcelona with 10 points.
They also exit UEFA Champions League from the first knock-out stage after losing to Arsenal 1-0 on aggregate.
