Qatari club Al-Gharafa boss Bruno Metsu confirmed that he was approached by Saudi champions Ittihad Jeddah, but insisted that he has yet to make a decision regarding the deal, Saudi daily Al-Riyadh reported on Monday.

“I am planning to leave Al-Gharafa as soon as possible, especially since the work-atmosphere here doesn’t help anyone focus on his job. I’ll leave after my contract expires in 45 days most probably,” Metsu told the Saudi paper.

On the other hand, Al-Gharafa board member Mahmoud Al-Ghazal revealed that the club board were surprised by Metsu’s sudden decision, especially since he still has over a month to go till the expiry of his contract and said that they are planning to convene with the French coach during the coming days.

Coach Mohamed Amin Dabo is expected to stay as temporary Ittihad Jeddah boss after sacking Romanian caretaker, Anghel Iordanescu.
