Bucharest rivals Steaua and Rapid will meet each other in the UEFA Cup quarter-finals while English side Middlesbrough will face Swiss giants Basel.

The UEFA Cup quarter-finals draw handed Steaua, who are looking to win their second European title, a clash against other Bucharest side, Rapid.

Middlesbrough, who eliminated favorites AS Roma on Wednesday, will take on Basel while the only German representative in European competitions Schalke 04 play Levski Sofia in the last eight.

Spanish side Sevilla will tackle Zenit St Petersburg in the last UEFA Cup quarter-finals encounter.

The first legs of the quarter-finals will be played on March 30 and the second legs will take place on the sixth of April.
