"It seems that the evil eye injured me after winning the African Cup of Nations with Egypt," Al-Saqqa told FilGoal.com on Monday.

"Once I returned to Turkey I picked up a knee injury and I will be out for two more weeks before returning to domestic action with Konya."

Al-Saqqa played all Egypt's six games towards the African title in February and was one of the most prominent figures in the winning squad.

Al-Saqqa said it wasn't only him that was hit by a bad injury after the tournament but Egypt teammate and Ahli winger Mohamed Barakat also picked-up a similar injury.

Konyaspor are placed 10th in the Turkish standings with 29 points, moving several spots down since Al-Saqqa left for the African Cup in January.
