Military sports chief Mostafa Kamel announced appointing Mounir Hegazi as the new Al-Gaish head coach on Saturday.

The club also announced that they appointed Ahmed Al-Kas as assistant coach to Hegazi, in addition to Magdi Al-Kassab, Basem Khairat and Ahmed Abdul-Latif who will join the coaching staff, and Abdul-Galil Emam as the team’s executive director.

Kamel also said that they chose Al-Kas as assistant coach given his prior knowledge of some of the team players, given his former post as the national military team boss.

Hegazi was appointed as a temporary coach after late caretaker Hassan Megahid passed away last week.

Al-Gaish come in fourth place in the Egyptian league standings with a tally of 29 points.
