The rising teenager outshone his teammates as he scored a goal and set up another for team captain Thierry Henry to secure a 2-0 win at Highbury on Tuesday.

"This was a terrific night," Fabregas was quoted as saying by the club's official website. "If you are an Arsenal fan and you watch this kind of game you have to enjoy it. I did personally."

"But we have to respect the game and respect Juventus for who they are. If you go there and think you are in the semi-finals then you are wrong."

Despite Arsenal's performance on Tuesday, Fabregas is still humbled by Juventus, who were missing star midfielder Pavel Nedved and captain Alessandro Del Piero.

"Pavel Nedved is going to come back and I don't know who else. These teams have big players on the bench and in the squad. They will be ready to play the game again.

"That is why we have to be focused for 90 minutes," said the 18-year-old Spaniard.

"We scored twice this evening and it was very important not to concede a goal against a team like Juventus. Now we will see what happens in Turin.”

The former Barcelona player also dismissed comments about him matching the level and maturity of ex-Arsenal captain and current Juventus midfielder Patrick Vieira.

"I don't know and I don't like it. I have always tried my best. I work hard in every training session and I always give my best," Fabregas was quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

"In the last few weeks we have won games and done well and it reflects well on a player individually, but I don't think that's fair. It's the team."

The second leg of the quarter-final tie will take place at Stadio Delle Alpi in Turin on April 5th.
