"I feel good. I'm confident. I'll try and return to training with the squad soon, in about one or two week's time, but there are days when it [the injury] hurts me more than others," Xavi told the official Barcelona website on Wednesday.
Xavi, whose return to the fields comes after a four-month recuperation period, started his final recovery phase with the club’s fitness coach.
The Spain international’s absence throughout the past period forced Barcelona to try a number of other replacements to fill his spot in the team, but without any promising results.
Spain coach Luis Aragones had also earlier expressed his fear that the inspiring midfielder wouldn’t be able to recover from the injury in time for his country’s World Cup campaign that will kick-off on June ninth.
Nevertheless, Xavi seems to be strong on the recovering track and is expected to hit the fields during the course of the coming week or two to help Barcelona in their UEFA Champions League and La Liga campaigns.
"I want to contribute to helping the team achieve the two titles," Xavi added.
