Fiorentina continued their battle for the Serie A fourth spot on Sunday when they held leaders Juventus to a 1-1 draw.

Luca Toni opened the score line two minutes after the interval when he raced on to a deft through pass and fired past Juve keeper Christian Abbiati.

Juve captain Alessandro Del Piero equalized in the 62nd minute when he poked home from close range after being set-up by Patrick Vieira.

Fiorentina now have 62 points and placed fifth, one point behind fourth-place Roma, who beat Lecce 3-1 while Juventus still hold on to the league summit with 80 points.

Earlier on Sunday, AC Milan stormed back from a one-goal deficit to crush Chievo 4-1 and keep second place.

Chievo snatched a surprising lead in the 14th minute when Sergio Pellissier sent a neat volley past Milan's Brazilian keeper Dida.

Italian international defender Alessandro Nesta leveled in the 29th minute before Kaka hit three goals after the break to complete the rout.

The result raised Milan point tally to 73 points, two ahead of arch-rivals Inter who hold on to the third spot.

In other matches, Cagliari held Palermo to a 1-1 draw, Empoli beat Sampdoria 2-1, Messina cruised past Treviso 3-1, Parma crushed Reggina 4-0 and Sienna lost to Lazio 3-2.
