Ittihad Alexandria said on Saturday that Zamalek are interested in signing midfielder Ibrahim Al-Shayeb next season.

"Zamalek president Mortada Mansour said he is interested in signing Al-Shayeb, but we haven't discussed any details yet," Ittihad vice president Mohamed Meselhi told FilGoal.com.

"I preferred delaying the negotiations till we return back from Tunisia where will play Esperance in the Confederation Cup."

The 22-year-old Shayeb, who plays as a defensive midfielder, started for Ittihad in the majority of the campaign, scoring one goal and collecting six yellow cards.

The Alexandria side are set to sell the player's contract to the highest bidders with Zamalek and Arab Champions League finalists Enppi leading the race.

FilGoal.com correspondent in Alexandria learnt that Enppi set an EGP 1.5 million bid to land Al-Shayeb while Zamalek haven't tabled their official offer yet.
