“The club board will clarify this matter personally with Buecker, we were discussing a contract-extension with him a couple of days ago,” Ismaili board member Othman Atteya Amin told FilGoal.com exclusively on Saturday.
Al-Wehda president Gamal Al-Tunsi finalized the deal with Buecker for $250,000, including transportation and accommodation and a monthly salary, Saudi reports indicated.
“If this is true, we will have to do without Buecker, but if it’s not, we will sit down and reopen our contract-extension talks,” Atteya added.
The Ismaili treasury head also indicated that a final answer won’t be available immediately given that Bueker was out of the country on vacation, but insisted that the club were doing their best to try to reach him.
Buecker, whose contract with Ismaili is due to expire in June, had earlier stated that he’d rather not think about a contract extension with the club and focus on the local league matches.
