Juve maintained their position at the top of the Italian league standings with a tally of 85 points, while Siena hold 17th place with 37 points, one step away from the relegation zone.

Vieira grabbed the lead for Juventus in the third minute after sending in a brilliant header, and Trezeguet fired a low-shot straight into the Siena net in the sixth minute, while Mutu secured his side’s victory two minutes later, to kill off any competition in the space of 10 minutes.

Elsewhere, AC Milan beat Livorno 2-0 also in the same round, thanks to a Filippo Inzaghi brace, to move Milan closer to leaders Juventus on the league table.

Inzaghi put Milan upfront in the 28th minute when he volleyed in a Serginho cross, then went on to secure his side’s victory when he connected with an inch-perfect Andriy Shevchenko cross in the 65th minute.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan suffered a shocking 1-0 defeat to Empoli after Marco Materazzi sent in an own-goal in the match’s injury time when he sent a back-pass straight over goalkeeper Julio Cesar’s head.

Neverthless, Inter still hold third place in the league standings with a tally of 74 points, while Empoli come 11th with 42 points.
