Saudi champions Al-Shabab have extended the contracts of Iraqi midfielder Nashaat Akram and Ghanaian striker Godwin Attram.

The two players agreed to the new terms of the contract with Shabab president Khaled Al-Bultaan, Saudi newspaper Al-Watan reported.

Al-Bultaan extended Attram and Akram's contracts, which expire by the end of the season, by two years and one year respectively.

"I'd like to let the fans know that we're keeping all our prominent players," Al-Bultaan told a press conference after sealing the deal.

The foreign duo played a pivotal role in Shabab's Saudi league title-winning campaign and was pursued by a number of Saudi and Qatari sides.

Akram, who also received an offer from Russian giants Lokomotiv Moscow, said he did not want to go into any contract negotiations before helping Shabab to the local title.

"The administration opened talks with me six months ago, but I wanted to postpone it till we won the Saudi title, and I'm glad it all worked well," Akram said.

Shabab will face Al-Sadd of Qatar in their Group D of the AFC Champions League match on Wednesday.
