Zamalek president Mortada Mansour has launched a scathing attack on his side's technical staff, led by coach Manuel Cajuda, blaming them for the derby defeat.

"The technical staff failed to apply the best line-up for the clash," Mansour told reporters.

"They excluded several players like Wael Al-Qabani and Ibrahim Said, if this duo took part they would have changed the result and the outcome of the game."

Although Cajuda lifted the fine imposed on Al-Qabanui, Said, Waleed Abdul-Latif and Sameh Youssef before the derby encounter, he left them out of the squad.

The Portuguese coach said that Ahli almost secured the title even before the derby match, as they would have easily won their two remaining matches.

"Since I signed for Zamalek, I've done a good job within five months even though the team was managed by two different boards during this period," Cajuda said.

"Any team in the world experience this re-building stage must face a dip in form like what happened to Manchester United and Real Madrid."
