Arsenal new-signing Tomas Rosicky will miss Czech Republic's World Cup warm-up game against Costa Rica after sustaining a thigh injury, BBC reported on Monday.

The 25-year-old suffered the injury during Czech's 2-0 friendly win over Saudi Arabia on Friday.

The news will increase manager Karel Brueckner's woes ahead of the World Cup as Bordeaux midfielder Vladimir Smicer is already sidelined through injury.

"We'd like to play at least one half with our first choice line-up, but we won't do it if it involves any risks," Brueckner said.

There are also some other worries, Dortmund striker Jan Koller is short of match fitness after several months on the side-lines, as well as striker Vratislav Lokvenc.

Czech play in Group E of the World Cup, along with the United States, Italy and Ghana.
