Libya coach Mohsen Saleh said that his primary aim is to build a strong team capable of competing for the coming African Cup of Nations (ACN) title in 2008 and ultimately qualify for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

"What makes me optimistic is that the Libyan Football Federation are offering me all the facilities needed to raise the level of the Libyan national team," Saleh told FilGoal.com exclusively on Monday.

Saleh will guide the team in the LG friendly tournament in Tunisia, during which he will reassess the players who played in the previous African Cup and will finally decide on the final squad for the World Cup.

"I'm still exploring my team, we aim to compete with stronger and more experienced teams in the LG tournament to the experience necessary before the World Cup kick-off," Saleh said.

"We are here (in Tunisia) to learn and explore our points of strength and weaknesses," the Egyptian coach added.

Libya will play alongside Uruguay, Belarus and Tunisia in the LG tournament, which comes as part of the Tunisians' warm-up for next month's World Cup.
