Zamalek agreed an EGP 1.5 million deal with Masri to buy the contract of defender Amr Al-Safti but both clubs failed to reach a compromise over the payment method, Zamalek said on Wednesday.

Al-Safti will receive 450,000 per season in a three-year contract, Zamalek board member Khaled Latif told FilGoal.com.

Zamalek offered to pay half the fee on signing and the rest by next January but Masri insisted to receive the full sum instantly, a dispute that delayed confirming the move.

Masri said on Monday that they will sell the contract of their prominent defender for EGP 2 million for either Zamalek or Ismaili.

The Cairo club is in search of solid stoppers after suffering defensive problems during the past two seasons.

Zamalek are also linked with Masri defender Karim Zekri, Ismaili's Moatasem Salem and veteran striker Hossam Hassan.
