Asian champions Ittihad Jeddah will have an easy task on their hands after being drawn against Syrian newcomers Al-Karamah, while last year's finalists Al-Ain of UAE will face Kuwaiti side Al-Qadisiya.
On the other hand, Saudi champions Al-Shabab will face a tough challenge when they face South Korean outfit Ulsan, while Shanghai Shenhua of China will face Korean side Jeonbuk Motors in the last game of the quarter-final stage, which is scheduled to be played on September 13th.
Meanwhile, the AFC Cup quarter-finals draw saw title holders Al-Faisaly of Jordan paired with Sun Hei of Hong Kong while Omani side Al-Nassr will play an all-Arab encounter when they face Al-Muharraq of Bahrain.
Jordanian side Wehdat will face Tampines Rovers of Singapore and Lebanese club Nejmeh will take on Salengor of Malaysia in the other two quarter-final games.
