Saudi Arabia manager Marcos Paqueta revealed that his aim was to qualify to the World Cup quarter-finals, Saudi daily Al-Riyadh reported on Saturday.

The Brazilian coach also said that he was content with his players’ form, with the exception of Mohamed Massad, Saad Al-Harthi and goalkeeper Mohamed Al-Deayea.

Saudi Arabia qualified for the World Cup for the fourth consecutive time after playing the 1994, 1998 and 2002 tournaments.

“It’s normal to feel some pressure as the World Cup nears, but I also feel anxious to start playing, I really can’t wait,” Paqueta said.

Paqueta, who succeeded Argentinean manager Gabriel Calderon as Saudi Arabia head coach, also revealed that he still has a number of surprises for the World Cup, but insisted that he would only reveal them at the tournament kick-off.

Saudi Arabia were drawn with Tunisia, Spain and Ukrain in Group H of the World Cup.
