Togolese Football Federation (TFF) general secretary Assogbavi Komlan accused national team coach Otto Pfister of being an alcoholic, German magazine Bild reported on Thursday.

Komlan, who stood against hiring Pfister after the former coach Stephen Keshi was sacked, said that the German coach always threatened to resign and leave the team anytime he gets drunk.

On the other hand, Pfister denied the accusations and said that he doesn’t drink alcohols and insisted that he will complain Komland to FIFA in order to save his reputation as a coach and a person.

Former Togolese international Bachirou Salou, as well as team physician Joachim Schubert, also backed up Pfister’s claims that he doesn’t drink alcohol.

Togo’s prime minister and minister of interior, who are both on TFF president Rock Gnassingbe’s back for the team’s poor and short run in the World Cup, want to sack the German coach and appoint his assistant, Kodovi Mawuena, to lead the team in the upcoming game against Switzerland.

Togo will play against Switzerland on June 19th after they lost their first game to South Korea.
