Ahli defender Ahmed Sayed has announced that he will sign a new contract with the Egyptian champions after the players committee recommended on Wednesday that his ongoing deal be terminated.

Sayed, who had three years to go on his previous contract, told FilGoal.com exclusively that he will sign a new deal with Ahli that will include the same terms and conditions as his previous contract on Monday before heading to France.

The players committee, presided by Ahmed Megahed, had recommended the club to terminate Sayed’s contract given the presence of a clause that is against the Egyptian Football Association (EFA)’s rules and regulations and that forced the player to return to Ahli after his return from European football.

Sayed was handed the captain’s armband on more than one occasion during the last season which Ahli ended with the Egyptian double victory and won the African Champions League and Super Cup.
