The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) Referees Committee has chosen Essam Abdul-Fattah to officiate the Egyptian Super Cup between Ahli and Enppi.

Gamal Al-Ghandour, head of the Referees Committee, said that the Egyptian FA have the utmost faith in Abdul-Fattah's abilities, so they assigned him to the Super Cup in order to support him following his ejection from the Worrld Cup finals in Germany.

The Egyptian referee was investigated by FIFA for allegedly accusing the world football's governing body of being racist, remarks that were published by Egyptian newspapers.

Abdul-Fattah took charge of Australia's 3-1 victory over Japan in the first round of the World Cup before being ruled out of the rest of the tournament.

Egyptian league and cup winners Ahli will face third-placed Enppi in the Super Cup on July 23rd after the EFA decided to ban league runners-up Zamalek from participating in the match.
