Italy forward Alessandro Del Piero could feature in his team's starting line-up against France in the World Cup final that will take place in Berlin on Sunday.

The Juventus forward only started one game in the tournament in Italy's last 16 game against Australia, but the Italian's final training session saw coach Marcello Lippi deploying Del Piero in a left position behind Totti and Luca Toni in the attacking-lines.

The Italians enter the final game without defender Alessandro Nesta who is suffering a groin injury that kept him out of his team's last three games, and Lippi is expected to name a similar defense-line to the one which played in the semi-final with Marco Materazzi filling in Nesta's place.

Midfielder Daniele De Rossi is also back for Italy after serving a four-match suspension following his red card against the United States in the first round, and apart from Nesta's injury, the Italian medical staff is relieved with the players' preparations ahead of the awaited encounter.

"The atmosphere is very relaxed, the players are taking the lead-up the same as they did before every game in the tournament, they are reading, watching T.V or just chatting," medical staff chief Enrico Castellacci was quoted as saying by Calcio Italia magazine on Saturday.

On the other hand, Totti has insisted that the entire squad were looking for revenge in the final on Sunday after losing to France in the final minute in the EURO 2000 final.

"There is a big rivalry between Italy and France, some of us feel this more keenly than the others, we want to give ourselves this incredible satisfaction of taking revenge, we're eager to do it for us, for the fans and for history," the Roma skipper said.
